Election 2020

The 2020 Gilgit Baltistan Assembly election will be held on or before 24 September 2020 to elect the Gilgit-Baltistan Legislative Assembly in Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan. The current assembly term will end on 24 June 2020,[1][2][3] after which elections should be held within 90 days,[4] although this is uncertain due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Timeline

  • On 30 April 2020, the Supreme Court of Pakistan allowed the federal government to form a caretaker government and hold a general election in Gilgit-Baltistan.[7]
