Gymshark is a fitness clothing and accessories brand based in the United Kingdom.[2].

History

Gymshark was set up in 2012 by Ben Francis.[3]. When Gymshark’s revenue reached £250,000[4] Francis dropped out of college to focus on Gymshark. The company was named as the UK’s fastest growing company in 2016[5] in The Sunday Times Fast Track 100.

Locations

Gymshark’s UK head office is based at Blythe Valley Park in Shirley, West Midlands.[6].

Gymshark also has an office in Hong Kong[7] and in 2019 the company set up its North American office in downtown Denver[8].

Products

Gymshark sells fitness apparel for men and women[9] including workout vests, hoodies, t-shirts and leggings[10].

Criticism

Black Friday 2017 saw Gymshark’s website crash for eight hours, causing customers to take to Twitter to complain to the company. The site crash cost Gymshark an estimated $143,000 in lost sales. Founder Ben Francis sent over 2,500 handwritten apologies to customers affected by the website crash[11]
