Ned falsified information

Ain't Twitter grand? @Randomgirlxx107 of Texas, USA just now tweeted: "Anyone who knows how to correct Wikipedia please do so. Someone named NedFausa has falsified information today in order to support Trump & Barr's false claims about #Antifa #FBR." Up to that point, I had made exactly one edit today (4 June 2020) to Antifa (United States), adding a single comma. Nothing else! And that, to @Randomgirlxx107 of Texas, USA, constitutes "falsified information." After I finished laughing, I had to shake my head in sadness at such stupidity. And BTW, for those like me who may be unfamiliar with the hashtag #FBR, I am unreliably informed by Google that it stands for Follow Back Resistance. If you are a member of the resistance. (Against trump & cronies), you put #FBR. Sheesh. NedFausa (talk) 18:35, 4 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

A barnstar for you!

The Resilient Barnstar
Every day I see you non-stop in my watchlist making productive edits to Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone. We've had our differences, but I can't help but recognize your resilience in fending off attacks by right-wing ideologues and others who would damage the page. Therefore, I award you this barnstar. Psiĥedelisto (talkcontribs) please always ping! 06:36, 21 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
P.S. I took a break from the page because I was writing People of the Philippines v. Santos, Ressa and Rappler, which has been featured on the main page under WP:ITN for the last few days. It seems like you guys still really need a map. Would you like me to try to make one, using reliable sources like The Seattle Times? Psiĥedelisto (talkcontribs) please always ping! 06:38, 21 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Psiĥedelisto: Thanks for asking, but I've retired from map discussions due to infographic ignorance. NedFausa (talk) 06:41, 21 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

No Delhi, thanks

Please stop inviting me to private, off-wiki discussions about Wikipedia's controversial 2020 Delhi riots page. I've already wasted thousands of words in frustration at Talk:2020 Delhi riots (now archived). I have nothing left to say. NedFausa (talk) 19:11, 27 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in post-1932 politics of the United States and closely related people. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

Core editing community

Katherine Maher has been CEO and executive director of Wikimedia Foundation since June 2016, and before that was the foundation's chief communications officer. Sadly, on July 16, 2020, she tweeted from her verified Twitter account: I am functionally perceived by many [of] the core editing community as not much more than a meddlesome suit. (Emphasis added.) I'd like to know how one becomes part of this core community. There are 47,977,695 Wikipedia accounts, of which 115,976 are actively editing. That's only 3/10ths of one percent, but still seems too large to be the core. Among other things, it would make it impossible for Ms. Maher, or anyone else, to intuit how she is functionally perceived.

Unless Wikimedia Foundation has done secret polling. If so, they missed me! Admittedly, I've been contributing for less than a year, but I'm here seven days a week and average two dozen daily edits. If I must step up my game to join the core, please tell me what numbers to strive for. Of course I'd never sacrifice quality for quantity. Yet if I'm within reach of the elite, I'll squeeze in a few more hours. Anyhow, I'm a grownup. If I have no chance of joining the core, just break it to me. I can live with the hurt. This not knowing, however, is driving me to distraction. NedFausa (talk) 17:00, 16 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Well done, all-around

Hey there, just wanted to say that I think you've been doing an amazing job on the Sushant Singh Rajput articles. I don't know how you happened into this field of interest, (based on your previous edits), but India-related articles could really use more strong editors such as yourself. Thanks for the hard work! Here's a Lassi for your good work

A glass of Lassi for you
Here is a glass of Lassi for you. Lassi is a traditional Indian dahi (yogurt) based drink. For your contributions to Sushant Singh Rajput-related articles. Keep going!
Thank you.

Whoops

Thanks for this. My brain was not fully engaged, I meant what you changed it to. Thanks! Cyphoidbomb (talk) 22:46, 13 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Cyphoidbomb: They told me at the edit-a-thon I attended last year prior to creating my Wikipedia account that there'd be days like this: tidying up after an administrator functioning with a partially engaged brain. Goes with the certificate of completion. NedFausa (talk) 00:35, 14 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Ha! Lol. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 00:57, 14 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Sushant Singh Rajput Cause of Death

Hi, in the page of Sushant Singh Rajput it written that his death cause is suicide by hanging but it is not clear that how Sushant died. CBI are investigating this. Please research about it. I written to you because you had made some changes on past days. Thank you. Iankush raj (talk) 05:21, 17 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Iankush raj: The Indian government's Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is looking into accusations lodged by Rajput's father against the actor's girlfriend and her family of wrongful restraint, wrongful confinement, theft, breach of trust, cheating, and abetment to suicide; and the Indian government's Enforcement Directorate (ED) is examining financial transactions in the case due to Rajput's father's allegations of money laundering. But Rajput's cause of death (asphyxia) and manner of death (suicide by hanging) are well established and not the subject of official investigation at the local, state, or national level. NedFausa (talk) 05:26, 17 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The conspiracy widens

Uh oh, apparently all suicides in India are now candidates for conspiracy theories. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 15:33, 18 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Cyphoidbomb: Like Sushant Singh Rajput, Jiah Khan was an Indian movie star found hanging from a bedroom ceiling fan in Mumbai. Wikipedia says it was Deemed a suicide in 2013, and re-confirmed as a suicide in 2016 following an extensive investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and a hearing at the Bombay High Court. That obviously did not stem the conspiracy theories. I expect it will be likewise with SSR. His fans have clamored in the millions for CBI to take up the case; yet as soon as CBI officially declares it a suicide, the conspiracy peddlers will denounce CBI as having been bribed or threatened into submission by the Bollywood Mafia or some other sinister force. The conspiracists will add it to their list of delusions and go on their merry way. Many decades from now, Wikipedia editors watching SSR's page will still be plagued with demands to change suicide to murder. Looking down from off-wiki Heaven, you and I will shake our heads wistfully and commiserate with our beleaguered successors. NedFausa (talk) 16:03, 18 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Sadak2 Dislike

It is utmost irrational that Sadak2 Trailer has been disliked without watching it and more due to a segment of fans. I believe this is irrational and can we do something against it as this is not a true representation of Sadak2 as a movie. Thanks.
