This is an old revision of this page, as edited by ArlingtonTX (talk | contribs) at 00:12, 3 January 2007 (Undo revision 97939608 by BenBurch (talk)). The present address (URL) is a permanent link to this revision, which may differ significantly from the current revision.

It is suspected that BenBurch has an inappropriate sock puppet, meat puppet or cabal relationship with F.A.A.F.A..

BenBurch and F.A.A.F.A. are single-purpose accounts. (FAAFA initially used a different name.) Over 90% of their edits and Talk posts have been in pursuit of this agenda. Their agenda is to portray everything that is politically left-wing in a favorable light; portray everything that is politically conservative in a negative light, especially such activist organizations as Protest Warrior and Free Republic; and harass and intimidate anyone who gets in their way, going so far as to use modified warning templates and sock puppetry allegations as part of their campaign of intimidation.

This agenda is a direct defiance and deliberate undermining of the WP:NPOV and WP:NPA philosophy. It is an attack on two of the fundamental principles of Wikipedia. There is either a cabal, sock puppet or meat puppet relationship between these two. ArlingtonTX 20:32, 30 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have just filed a formal complaint against them on the Administrators Noticeboard.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Requests_for_investigation#Suspected_cabal_or_meatpuppet_relationship_between_BenBurch_and_F.A.A.F.A.

I encourage others who have experienced their special brand of intimidation and harassment, on this page and on the Protest Warrior page, to join the investigation at the link I have provided above, and comment on your experiences with these two. I also encourage BenBurch and F.A.A.F.A. to participate in the discussion and either admit that they are guilty as charged, or present their defense. ArlingtonTX 20:50, 30 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Jesus article

The dates didn't match any other article about historic people. Why does only the Jesus article include the "BCE/CE" designations? Why not Julius Caesar, Plato, Socrates, etc., too?? Jinxmchue 21:44, 8 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The answer is a LONG consensus process in that particular article. But I have been considering changing many other articles to CE/BCE for a while now. --BenBurch 22:21, 8 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Why? It's not a standard, universal date designation and remains very controversial. Not even the renowned Encyclopedia Brittanica uses it. Why should Wiki? Besides that, you would need to change a huge amount of pages. Furthermore, you would have to start the process to enact a Wiki policy regarding the use of the dating designation so that all new articles will use it. And if you intend to use both designations, I hope you are aware of how clumsy and unencyclopedic it looks. Jinxmchue 23:25, 8 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Ben, I for one would kindly request that you not change AD / BC on any other article. Lostcaesar 23:26, 8 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

See WP:MOS#Disputes_over_style_issues before making any such changes. Apparently there was an arbcom ruling about this. Changing from one to the other, or vice versa, is a no no. - Crockspot 20:13, 9 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

THANKS! --BenBurch 20:14, 9 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I know you know this already, but please be civil to other users, even when they do silly things. Thanks. | Mr. Darcy talk 15:16, 9 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry. :-( --BenBurch 19:46, 9 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Small world

I just thought it was interesting how small of a world we live in. I remember from my time at DU (I have an account with several thousand posts) that you are from IL, Bryan is from Palatine and I'm from Schaumburg. It really is a small world out there. I hope you have a great Christmas and wonderful 2007.--RWR8189 21:52, 10 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

And the very same to you and yours! --BenBurch 21:57, 13 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for reporting this user's vandalism on WP:AIV. I have gone over his edits and decided that they don't warrant a block at this time. I will monitor his behavior in the future, however. Canderson7 (talk) 21:12, 13 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Since I'm blocked on Democrat Warrior

Is this patheticness what you were talking about in regards to "big news" or whatever about CU? Jinxmchue 18:34, 26 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Not even close. --BenBurch 18:39, 26 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Considering you're a couple months overdue on your promise of this "big news," I'm going to have to call "b.s." on it. But by all means, please reiterate once again that "revenge is a dish best served cold" as if it makes your threat real. Jinxmchue 19:48, 26 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Not something I control the timing on at all, but I know the project is still moving along. Feel it is b.s. if that makes you feel better, though. --BenBurch 20:25, 26 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, come on

Ben, your "New Year's Card" on User talk:BryanFromPalatine is plainly an uncivil personal attack. I have no idea what the history is between you and Bryan and Bryan's suspected sockpuppets, but I expect better of you. VoiceOfReason 17:36, 28 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, you're right. --BenBurch 17:41, 28 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
