As he stated in his interviews with Seifu On EBS TV talk show and Arts TV, he was impersonating Michael Jackson dance by watching his music videos. Then participated in a high school dance contest and won the competition; the competition was a one day contest. That was the time that let him join the art.[4] [5]

Career

In 2009 he started the competition in an Ethiopian Idol as a single modern dance contestant. The competition was ended in 2011 and he was a winner in a single modern dance category.[6] [7]

In 2016 Sancho joined the music industry by releasing his debut single, "Ande" [8] the music is recognized by the choreography of the music video. [2]

In 2017 he released his second single, titled "Atasayugn".[9] That was the the time he totally broke into the scene during this single. Literal meaning of “Atasayugn” is “don’t show me”. It is a song in which he tells his beloved girl that he would chose anything instead of seeing someone other than her.[3]

In 2019 Sancho released a song known as "Tanamo" [10] and collaborated with Micky Gonderegna with the music titled “Leba”. [11]

His latest song was released on June 26, 2020 titled "Fiyona" [12] ; which is a Tigrigna word. The song has hit more than 125K views within the first 24 hours. [3]

Popnable stated that Sancho Gebre's songs spent 73 weeks in the charts.[13] He also contributed choreographing music videos for artists in Ethiopia.[14]
