It includes the Bauhaus, international style, and Brutalism but does not include pre-modern or proto-modern movements such as expressionist architecture, Art Nouveau, Art Deco, Jugendstil, the Vienna Secession, etc. Neither does it include post modern developments such as deconstructivism or critical regionalism.
- Universities should be included only if the original design was modernist in nature, or if the primary design of the campus as a whole is or was in a 20th century modernist style.
