Chicken fried bacon is an American pork dish that consists of slabs of bacon which are battered like chicken fried steak and then deep fried.

The dish appears to be Texan in origin and distribution; it won the Big Tex Choice Award for Best Taste in the 2008 State Fair of Texas.[1][2] Obviously high in fat, food experts such as Sally Squires of the Washington Post warn that the dish should be eaten in moderation, without denying its appeal to the palet.[3]
