Carter Yakemchuk is a Canadian ice hockey right-shot defenceman with the Calgary Hitmen, in the Western Hockey League (WHL). Yakemchuk is projected to be a first-round pick in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft, and played in the 2024 CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game.[1][2][3]

Yakemchuk started playing professionally in the WHL, and was drafted 65th overall in the third round of the 2020 WHL Bantam Draft to the Calgary Hitmen.[4] He has played for the Hitmen since the draft in 2020. Yakemchuk played in the 2023 IIHF World U18 Championships,[5] and the 2024 CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game[3], during which, he was named the Tempo WHL Player of the Week due to his performance.[6]
