The Scribblegate incident occurred at a business speaking event hosted and promoted by EXMA Global (A Marketing Education Platform) on Saturday April 20, 2024 at the Watsco Center at the University of Miami, Florida in the United States involving the allegation that former National Football League quarterback Tom Brady deliberately signed an unidentified autograph of himself on all of items that were brought by customers of the event who purchased a VIP ticket which was to include a signature opportunity with Tom Brady. This event featured many guest speakers most notably including EXMA CEO, Fernando Anzures, Artist Romero Britto, co-founder of Quest Nutrition, Tom Bilyeu and former National Football League Quarterback, Tom Brady. The incident occurred during the VIP portion of the event when customers who purchased a VIP ticket to the event which was to include a photo and signature opportunity with Tom Brady were beyond surprised to see the unorthodox signatures that Tom Brady had "scribbled" on their items as well as learning that he had also refused to sign some of the items including trading cards. Many of these VIP customers were merely fans and collectors of Tom Brady and had brought some rare articles to have autographed by the NFL star including some game used memorabilia, tickets, hats, jerseys and footballs that now contain a Tom Brady "scribble". The incident had gone viral within hours as some of the items that were "scribbled" on were historic artifacts that were used or worn during Tom Brady's NFL career and had been deliberately "scribbled" on by the man who used them. These items are said to be valued well into the hundreds of thousands of dollars. To further progress this scandal many of the signatures were brought to the attention of Beckett Authentication, a world leader in autograph authentication who have deemed the signatures received that day to be "inconclusive".
