The Come Up (2007-present) Terrence “Franchise” Coles (born December 8, 1987) & Leon “Vinny Radio” Moore (born June 25, 1988) are an American hip hop duo based out of Braddock, Pennsylvania. The two were the first initial group signed to the late Mac Miller’s REMember Music imprint.

Biography

Franchise & Vinny Radio both attended school in the Woodland Hills School District located in the eastern suburbs of Pittsburgh, PA. The two initially met in East Junior High through Vinny’s older brother later finding out that they shared mutual interest in music, they were inspired by hip hop veterans such as Jay-Z, Nas, Mobb Deep, AZ, & more. By the spring of 2002 they began recording on a karaoke machine and eventually formed a group known as D.A. (Deadly Alliance) with local friends Kemickal, L-Boog & D-Nice. After releasing two albums the group disbanded with Vinny taking a hiatus and Franchise going solo. By 2007 the two had reconnected musically and began working on material together, a year later they simultaneously met fellow Pittsburgh emcee’s Mac Miller & Beedie where they were also introduced to their future manager Willy Whips who helped formed the East End Empire umbrella.

Career

EAST END EMPIRE

In 2008 the Pittsburgh hip hop scene was rising which brought The Come Up Boys in contact with other local acts such as The Ill Spoken, another group that consisted of Mac Miller & Beedie who were creating a hip hop umbrella with their then manager/partner Willy Whips that became the East End Empire. At the time Fran & Vin were working consistently as solo artists featuring on each others projects with plans of creating an album as a group in the future, being apart of the triple E movement helped them garner some online attention through different forums and blog sites.

THE 58’s

In 2010 Franchise released a double disc album titled “Henny & Haze” which birthed the umbrella known as The 58’s, this super group consisted of Franchise, Vinny Radio, B. White, Billy Mayo, Ghosty & Primavera Vills. With the local scene now blossoming and music being pumped out so rapidly this also gave birth to the groups first official work known as In Good Hands with Fran & Vin handling vocals and local producer/engineer Big Jerm handling all production.

IN GOOD HANDS

In Good Hands came off the heels of the heavily touted 58’s LP and was released on June 15, 2011 which was the first official Come Up project. The reception was exceptional and this led them to being invited on Mac Miller’s Blue Slide Park Tour where they performed on 24 dates as openers alongside Los Angeles rapper Casey Veggies, Billboard magazine wrote them up to be most likely to perform a near perfect set.
