Drybrook is a village in the Forest of Dean in Gloucestershire, England. It is low down in the valley.

51°51′N 2°30′W / 51.850°N 2.500°W / 51.850; -2.500

Drybrook is about 3 miles (fromCinderford and 2 miles from Micheldean other towns in the forest). It has a school, a pharmacy, and many other shops like the local off licence. The nearest secondary school is probably dean magna school which is in Micheldean which is mentioned at the top of this paragraph. Drybrook is near the middle of the forest. Drybrook is also renowned for its rugby club which is at the top of the High street and it also has a football club up Harrow hill. And has been voted one of the best villages to live in the forest of dean for its scenery and leisure. There are about 100 people living in Drybrook.

History

One of the houses in Drybrook was once a police station, the house is situated on the high street near the rugby club.

Dene Magna

Dene Magna is Latin for Micheldean where Dene Magna is. Dene magna is a secondary school with about 750 pupils and is one of only a few schools to have learning toolkits. Dene Magnas Headteacher is Robert Broadbridge and deputy headmaster Sarah tuffnel.

Drybrook

Drybrook is also known as royal hunting ground where the so called legend of the black panther and the white dear roame. Unfortenly the White dear was killed after being hit down and then trophy hunters cup of its head but the police have not caught the person responsible. Drybrook also had a good supply of coal and stone. As Drybrook grew so did its boundary and it grew in to a small village called Harrow Hill (or as most locals call it Harry Hill). And on Harrow Hill they built the village's first modern church, The Holy Trinity Church which is on the way to Micheldean that was built in 1817.
