Ilya Nabokov (Russian: Илья Набоков, born March 26, 2003) is a Russian professional ice hockey goaltender for Metallurg Magnitogorsk of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). He is considered a top goaltending prospect eligible for the 2024 NHL entry draft.
Playing career
Nabokov became a KHL regular in 2023–24, earning the starter role in Magnitogorsk and recording a .930 save percentage in 43 games.[1] In 22 playoff games, Nabokov recorded a .941 save percentage, and in Metallurg's Gagarin Cup finals sweep of Lokomotiv Yaroslavl he allowed only three goals.[2] At 21 years and 32 days, he became the youngest playoff MVP in KHL history, beating the previous record of 23 years and 128 days set by goaltender Ilya Sorokin.[3]
