The Gushi were an ancient culture in what is today the Xinjiang region of China.

There were probably a Tocharian people[1], and like them were of European physical type:


The 789 grams of dried cannabis was buried alongside a light-haired, blue-eyed Caucasian man, likely a shaman of the Gushi culture, near Turpan in northwestern China.[2]


The name is distinct from modern Gushi County in eastern China.
