The Gushi were an ancient culture in what is today the Xinjiang region of China.

There were likely a Tocharian people[1], and like them of European physical type:

The 789 grams of dried cannabis was buried alongside a light-haired, blue-eyed Caucasian man, likely a shaman of the Gushi culture, near Turpan in northwestern China.[2]

The name is distinct from the modern Gushi County in eastern China.
