Kashmir Premier League is accredited by the [[Pakistan Cricket Board]], the [[Government of Azad Kashmir|Government of Azad Jammu & Kashmir]] and the [[Government of Punjab, Pakistan|Government of Punjab]], Pakistan. The league was initially scheduled to start in May 2021. == Controversies ==
The Kashmir Premier League<ref name=":8" /><ref name=":6" /> made headlines even before it had begun. On 1 August 2021, former [[England cricket team|England]] spinner [[Monty Panesar]] pulled out of the tournament. He took to [[Twitter]] to reveal the news and said that, "I have decided not to participate in the KPL because of the political tensions between India and Pakistan over Kashmir issues.
