Lincoln Community High School
Lincoln Community High School is located at 1000 Primm Road in Lincoln, IL. The school has 940 students for the 2005-2006 school year, down from over 1200 30 years earlier.
Sports
The school is a traditional power in boys' basketball in central Illinois. The Railsplitters have recently been state finalists (among the final 16) in the state class AA boys basketball tournament in 1999 [1], 2003 [2], and 2005 [3].
Floyd Bee coached the wrestling team for over 30 years managing a winning season each time. The final wrestler ever to wrestle for Floyd Bee was Wesley Allen in the state sectional in 2000.
The school is a traditional doormat in football. The last winning season for the boys football team was in the 1985-86 school year [4], when the team posted a record of 5-4. The football team did qualify for the state playoffs in the 1975-76 [5] and 1984-85 [6] school years.
The school has never had a state champion in sports.
