Lincoln Community High School
Lincoln Community High School is located at 1000 Primm Road in Lincoln, IL. The school has 940 students for the 2005-2006 school year, down from over 1200 30 years earlier.
Sports
The school is a traditional power in boys' basketball in central Illinois. The Railsplitters have recently been state finalists (among the final 16) in the state class AA boys basketball tournament in 1929, 1951, 1955, 1969, 1970, 1973, 1978, 1980, 1999 [1], 2003 [2], and 2005 [3].
Floyd Bee coached the wrestling team for over 30 years managing a winning season each time. The final wrestler ever to wrestle for Floyd Bee was Wesley Allen in the state sectional in 2000.
The school is a traditional doormat in football. The last winning season for the boys football team was in the 1985-86 school year [4], when the team posted a record of 5-4. The football team did qualify for the state playoffs in the 1975-76 [5] and 1984-85 [6] school years.
The school has never had a state champion in sports.
