Puszta ({{IPA-hu|pustɒ}}) is a Hungarian name for Pannonian steppe on the [[Great Hungarian Plain]] (Alföld) around the River [[Tisza]] in the eastern part of Hungary as well as on the western part of Hungary .
Puszta ({{IPA-hu|pustɒ}}) is a grassland biome in the eastern and western parts of Hungary.

The word means "[[plain]]s", a vast wilderness of grass and bushes. The name comes from an adjective of the same form, meaning "bare, empty, bereft".

The climate is continental. Landscape is widely cultivated, the original Puszta landscape now being found only in a few places, for example in [[Hortobágy]].

The Pannonian steppe is the steppe biom located in Pannonian Basin.[1]

Geography

Pannonian steppe is located in Austria, Bulgaria, Hungary, Romania, Serbia and Slovakia.[2] In Hungary is known as Puszta.
