Ram Charan (Telugu: రామ్ చరణ్) is an Indian film actor. Coming from a family long associated with Telugu cinema, Ram Charan is the son of actor Chiranjeevi and the grandson of veteran comedian Padmasri Allu Rama Lingaiah. He is also the nephew of producer Allu Aravind and actor Pawan Kalyan, and cousin to fellow actor Allu Arjun. Ram Charan is fluent in Tamil and is an accomplished equestrian.[1]

Career

He made his film debut in 2007 in Chirutha, which was directed by Purijagannadh. His second film, S. S. Rajamouli's Magadheera (2009), emerged a critical as well as commercial success, becoming the highest-grossing Telugu film till date.[2]His next film is Bhaskar’s Orange, which is due for release on November 26, 2010. The film stars Genelia D'Souza as the lead actress.

Ram Charan is currently working on Merupu opposite Kajal Agarwal. The film is being directed by Dharani (Bangaram), and produced under the banner of Megasuper Good Films by R. B. Chowdhary. He might make his entry into Bollywood with the film Welcome to the Jungle in 2011.

Ram Charan appeared for People's magazine in their December South India edition.

Brand endorsements

In 2009 he appeared in a Pepsi ad with Bollywood model Deepika Padukone.[3] In 2010 he appeared in another Pepsi ad with cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni.[4] His latest endorsement is with Airtel.[5]
