Prince Sadoluwa "Dolu" Opoola Lanlehin (b. October 23 1987) is a Nigerian prince and is currently next in line to become Oba (King) of Lagos, the largest city in Nigeria.[1] He is a member of the Lagos royal family whose history dates back to the early seventeenth century.

Family History

Lanlehin was born in the southern city of Lagos, Nigeria. Lanlehin's grandfather was a major Chieftan in Ibadan and member of the Ibadan Peoples Party.[2] Lanlehin's uncle Adeyinka Oyekan was Oba of Lagos from 1965-2003.[3] Since Oyekan has no male offspring, Lanlehin is next in line to become Oba of Lagos and is thus the Prince of Lagos. Lanlehin was not of age to become Oba at the time of Oyekan's death, so Rilwan Akinola assumed the throne in Lanlehin's stead.[4] Lanlehin is currently residing in the United States but has claim to the throne if he is to return to Nigeria.

Formal Education

Sadoluwa Lanlehin attended Loyola Jesuit College, a prominent Jesuit boarding school in the current-day capital Abuja.[5] Lanlehin attended university abroad at the University of Notre Dame in the United States, where he studied Civil Engineering.
