The Servant Foundation, also known as The Signatry,[1] is an American 501(c)(3) non-profit organization funded primarily by anonymous donors, that operates a donor-advised fund. It is best known for "He Gets Us", a religious advertising campaign that was first launched in 2022.[2] It describes its mission as being to "inspire and facilitate revolutionary, Biblical generosity".[1]

The Servant Foundation was founded by Bill High in 2000.[3] From 2000 to 2017, it was an affiliate of the National Christian Foundation.[4]

In 2023, it was reported that the Servant Foundation had donated more that $65 million to the Alliance Defending Freedom in the period from 2018 to 2021.[4]

"He Gets Us" Campaign

The billionaire Green family has been criticized for contributing millions of dollars to the Servant Foundation which funds anti-LGBTQ legislation, has supported Supreme Court decisions which denied medical coverage for contraception based on religious beliefs and funds the Alliance Defending Freedom. The most public use of these funds has been the "He Gets Us" campaign during Super Bowl commercial breaks. The Southern Poverty Law Center lists the Alliance Defending Freedom as a hate group which is "founded by some 30 leaders of the Christian Right, the Alliance Defending Freedom is a legal advocacy and training group that has supported the recriminalization of sexual acts between consenting LGBTQ adults in the U.S. and criminalization abroad; has defended state-sanctioned sterilization of trans people abroad; has contended that LGBTQ people are more likely to engage in pedophilia; and claims that a “homosexual agenda” will destroy Christianity and society. ADF also works to develop “religious liberty” legislation and case law that will allow the denial of goods and services to LGBTQ people on the basis of religion."[5][6][7][8]
