Shochiku Studio Co., Ltd. (株式会社松竹撮影所, Kabushiki gaisha Shōchiku Satsueijo), founded in 1924, is a film and production studio of the Shochiku Group that has been producing movies and dramas for roughly a century, being the second-oldest motion picture company in Japan.[1] The company has a production base in Kyoto and Tokyo, and the long-established Kyoto Studio (京都撮影所, Kyoto Satsueijo) is equipped with a studio facility that is deeply rooted in tradition.

It has also worked on the production of Hollywood films such as "The Last Samurai" and "Silence".

Shochiku Studio is known for productions of many Japanese period dramas, movies, TV and commercials.[2]
