Staal brothers

The Staal family consists of four brothers from Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada, who are all currently signed to NHL contracts.

There are four brothers in the Staal family: Eric, 26; Marc, 24; Jordan, 22; & Jared, 20, all of Thunder Bay, Ontario. Three of the brothers are in the NHL - Eric, with the Carolina Hurricanes, Marc, with the New York Rangers and Jordan, with the Pittsburgh Penguins. Jared is currently in the Carolina Hurricanes' organization.

The oldest brother, Eric, has played 6 NHL seasons for the Carolina Hurricanes. His uniform number is #12, he was drafted with Carolina's 1st-round pick (2nd overall) in 2003 and he is the Hurricanes' captain. In 2006, he helped lead the Hurricanes to their first Stanley Cup in franchise history.

The 2nd oldest brother, Marc, has played 3 NHL seasons for the New York Rangers. His uniform number is #18 and he was drafted with the Rangers' 1st-round pick (12th overall) in 2005.

The 2nd youngest brother, Jordan, has played 4 NHL seasons for the Pittsburgh Penguins. His uniform number is #11 and he was drafted with Pittsburgh's 1st-round pick (2nd overall) in 2006. In 2009, he was a member of the Penguins as they won their 3rd Stanley Cup in franchise history.

The youngest brother, Jared, played for the Phoenix Coyotes' AHL affiliate, the San Antonio Rampage, until he was traded to the Hurricanes on May 13, 2010. He was drafted with Phoenix's 2nd-round pick (49th Overall) in 2008.
