== Commander of Bryan Station ==

I see that the Commander is currently listed as a "Capt. Elijah Craig." This is probably wrong. I'm almost certain that there was not even any Capt. Elijah Craig alive at the time in the vicinity of Bryan Station, certainly not one of the Craig family living there in 1782. And I seem to recall that more recent, better scholarship than the cited source for "Capt. Elijah" judges the commander to have instead been the eldest Craig son of Toliver and Polly, Capt. John Hawkins Craig. So I will be getting the sources lined up and changing the Commander to Capt. John Craig in the near future (unless someone has a better-informed conclusion and can prove it to a higher degree of plausibility). Commander of Bryan Station

Olorin3k (talk) 16:28, 28 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
