Oh dear

This article is a real mess. I have read the embedded comments by User:Pdfpdf, and totally agree with them all. This could possibly be a useful article, but at present I see the following faults:

  • A total confusion between the Order of St John and its subsidiary operational organisations (the detailed comments refer to St John Ambulance).
  • A poor style of composition.
  • Random and uncited references to St John Ambulance Regulations for officers.
  • Use of language recognisable only to members of the organisation itself.
  • Title reference to insignia, without any being displayed.

I will put this article on my "To do list" and get round to sorting it out when I can, unless anyone else wants to have a go first. Timothy Titus Talk To TT 18:57, 9 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Oh dear, indeed, Timothy. I've been taking pictures of a collection of insignia that I own with the intention of making an article on the subject. I see now that this article exists, so I'll put it on my to-do list, as well. In addition to the points you mention, I would suggest that we also move the article to Insignia of the Venerable Order of St John to keep it in the same format as other articles (ie Venerable Order of St. John). How does that sound?--Eva bd 06:11, 20 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
