Biography
Timothy Barr was born and raised in northeastern Georgia. He learned the construction business from his father and grandfather and eventually started his own company in 2005. In 2012, Barr ran for the Republican nomination for Georgia House District 103. He defeated Ken Russell in the primary election and went on to win the seat unopposed in the general election. He has won the subsequent elections without opposition in either primary or general elections.[6][7] Barr has been outspoken about his Christian faith, saying, "When you get me, you get a man of faith, of deep convictions. For me, it is who I am. I can't split my life. My faith is who I am and it leads my decisions." He and his wife, Melinda, have been involved in Christian missionary work, including the construction of two orphanages in Bolivia. Barr and his wife attend Killian Hill Baptist Church in Lilburn, Georgia.[8][9]
