WP:Admins: English Wikipedia administrator numbers 2003-2019 plus moving average lines based on the figures from Wikipedia:List of administrators: Total admin numbers, and % admins that are active, % semi-active, % inactive. The moving average for the totals is 2 months, for the activity 12 months (which averages the large seasonality in the activity data). The July 2011 admin discontinuity is due to Wikipedia:Village pump (proposals)/suspend sysop rights of inactive admins, and the June 2019 drop in the number of admins is due to WP:FRAMBAN. A linear decline trend in the number of admins is a good fit with r² = 0.994 . The WP:FRAMBAN loss of admins is a significant drop in the last two years, but similar to fluctuations before 2017.
