Morrissey entry

Oh dear, this got the emotions flaring again—it seems "British" is so abhorrent a word or concept that it needs to be purged from usage. Or else, some English folks want to claim "their" Morrissey... Either way, I've made it my policy not to get too involved in controversies surrounding entries that I've made little contributions to—I had only done so in the past in the case of one particularly obnoxious individual who had made it their mission to slap nationalistic labels on every entry they happened to stumble upon. So, as I've not worked on this entry, I feel it is outside my purview. And while I'm willing to keep an eye out and possibly render an opinion as things progress, I do not wish to get involved in a revert sparring match. What I would strongly suggest is for you to register an account as a calling card to keep things straight. From what I gather, the best way to engender a meaningful discussion, would be to gather comprehensive sources that argue the point that simply labelling M as "English" neglects to capture his complex cultural and residential background (for example, aside from being born to Irish parents, has he not since moved to the US?). Yup, he's in the US.....To have these people revert, NOT follow the established rules and THEN claim that it is I who is not doing so (whilst trying to bully a submission to keep their clear POV) seems entirely against the spirit of Wikipedia. You seemed to have played an instrumental role in mediating that before,so of course I hope you'd reconsider--if not, it really shouldn't go unchecked, can you suggest any other editors who might help here? 173.76.208.66 (talk) 20:01, 2 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
