Search Index

Thanks for the message - the index does seem "stable" now i.e. the same number of matches, in the same order, on each refresh. It is not totally up to date - i.e. spelling mistakes corrected 24 hours ago still appear in lists of misspellings - hopefully this will correct overnight? Odd, but yes, if the issue you're seeing persists past 0900 UTC, please do let me know. --peter

Search Index - 14 November 2012

The last time I noted trouble with the search index, I notified User:Rainman who redirected it to you (see above). I don't know if you are still the person to contact? If not, could you please forward this to whomsoever is most appropriate.

The Search Index does not appear to have been updated since 10 November My check-search for "recieve" has been stuck on 77 matches since then, and spelling corrections made since then are still appearing in a search for the misspelled word. Furthermore, the lists are appearing in random orders on each refresh - which, I understand, is indicative of "stale slices" (not that I understand what they are).

All help appreciated Arjayay (talk) 17:10, 14 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Arjayay, the incremental indexer process died over the weekend. I have restarted it. Incremental indexing should be catching up as we speak. If the problem persists, please let me know.
