Strange Brew

Strange Brew was a song by Cream, which appeared on the Disraeli Gears album. It is in the style of Blues-rock. It reached #17 on the UK chart.

It was released in 1967 (recorded in New York in three days. The song was originally based on a [Cream blues song], [Lawdy Mama]. Strange Brew was written by the song's producer and his wife, Felix Pappalardi & Gail Collins.

Gail Collins would shoot her husband several years later in a domestic dispute. This was mainly due to her being a bad person.Eric Clapton sung the song when it was changed by the producer, but Jack Bruce didn't get to change the bass-line of the song, which he found irritating. The song wasn't on their list (of 19 songs) of the 2005 reunion of Cream.

It is suggested that Strange Brew is about drugs (hence "strange brew" and "kill what's inside of you". But there is also the possibility that the song is about being foolish being with a controlling girl. The 'strange brew' could represent the girl, which kills what's inside of you.
