That is the small artificial lake which was created by impoundment of a few inflows beneath the upper river terrace on which lies the southern part of Lesce town. The elevation of the pond is 421 meters (1381 feet). Its surface is 2,6 hectares, the deepest point is 3 meters. The pond has the ellipse shape, it extends in north - south direction. The pond was named after the Šobec farm, which stands in its vicinity.[1]

During the winter the campsite is closed but it is nevertheless regularly visited by the people from all Europe, because it is popular starting point for hiking around the Gorenjska region.
