The 1920–21 Fordham Rams men's ice hockey season was the 2nd season of play for the program.

Season

[edit]

Fordham began the year with a match against Princeton. Though a traditional power, the Tigers had slipped after the war and were vulnerable to the upstart Rams. Fordham also had a distinct home ice advantage in that the 181st Street Ice Palace was not only much smaller than Princeton was used to (causing the game to be played with 6-men teams) but it had pillars set in the ice that had to be avoided during the match while also being played on rough ice. This enabled the Rams to neutralize the speed of the Tigers and win the game with two goals in the second.[1] The Rams used the same advantages against Penn, however, since the Quakers were an inferior team, the score was much more lopsided.

A week later, Fordham continued its torrid pace by taking down the Mass Aggies 8–3.[2] With the Rams primed for a shot at an intercollegiate title, three pending games would determine the teams fate. Unfortunately, it appears none were forthcoming. While Fordham records end in January, no other programs report games against the Rams for the remainder of the season.[3]

Edward Curley served as team manager.
