The 1939–40 season would have been the 65th season of competitive football by Rangers.

Overview

With the outbreak of the Second World War on 3 September 1939, the season was suspended after five rounds of games played in the Scottish League Division One. The league was not officially competed for until season 1946–47 but there were unofficial regional leagues played during these years.
