The 1947 Rice Owls football team represented Rice University during the 1947 college football season.[1] The Owls were led by eighth-year head coach Jess Neely and played their home games at Rice Field in Houston, Texas. Rice competed as a member of the Southwest Conference, finishing in third. The Owls finished the regular season with a record of 6–3–1, and were ranked 18th in the final AP Poll.
