The 1983 Nicholls State Colonels football team represented Nicholls State University in the 1983 NCAA Division I-AA football season. The Colonels were led by third-year head coach Sonny Jackson. They played their home games at John L. Guidry Stadium and were an NCAA Division I-AA Independent. They finished the season 5–6.
