The fifth Canadian Professional Soccer League season began on May 23, 2002 and concluded on October 20, 2002 with the Ottawa Wizards winning the Rogers Cup.
Changes from 2001 season
- The Metro Lions were added as an expansion team and played in the Eastern Conference.
- The Hamilton Thunder were added as an expansion team and played in the Western Conference
- The Mississauga Olympians moved from Toronto.
