The 2015 Korea Drought is a drought that started in June 2015. The main reason for concern is the fact that the amount of rain was less than half of average.[1] On June 19, the Soyang Dam's water level reached 152.24m which is the lowest recorded water level in South Korea after 1978 June 24 when the water level was 151.93m and the Soyang Lake has completely evaporated.[2] North Korea also has been struck by extreme drought with the United Nations estimating approximately 110 million dollars of support would be needed.[3]
