"Slip Away" is a song written by William Armstrong, Marcus Daniel, and Wilbur Terrell and performed by Clarence Carter. The song was arranged and produced by Rick Hall.[1] It was featured on his 1968 album This Is Clarence Carter.[2]

Chart Performance

It reached #2 on the U.S. R&B chart, #6 on the U.S. pop chart, and #12 on the Canadian chart in 1968.[3] The single's B-side, "Funky Fever", reached #49 on the U.S. R&B chart and #88 on the U.S. pop chart.[4]

The song ranked #44 on Billboard magazine's Top 100 singles of 1968.[5]
