Shaker is the second and final album David Johansen recorded with the Harry Smiths. The album was released in 2002 by Chesky Records [2] and continues highlighting the folk style music from the previous album, David Johansen and the Harry Smiths. Additionally, the album brings in blues music with songs from Son House, Muddy Waters and Charlie Patton.

Shaker is currently the last album David Johansen has released as a solo artist since reuniting and returning to the New York Dolls in 2004.
