Yulduz Turdiyeva (Uzbek: Yulduz Turdiyeva; Russian: Юлдуз Турдиева) is an Uzbek singer who sings in Uzbek, Azeri and Persian. Her music is characterized by her vocal improvisation.

Life

Turdiyeva was born near Bukhara, Uzbek SSR.[1] At age 12, she developed a passion for traditional music and after leaving school, she went straight to the State Conservatory of Uzbekistan.[1]

Career

In 2009, she won first place at International World of Mugham Festival after performing Karabakh Shikastasi, fret of Azerbaijani mugham.[2][3]
