Duke and South Carolina were originally co-champions with records of 4–2.

The 1965 South Carolina Gamecocks football team represented the University of South Carolina in the Atlantic Coast Conference in the 1965 NCAA University Division football season. The Gamecocks finished the season 5–5 overall.
