The Clark County Marshal's Office is a law enforcement agency in Clark County, Nevada, serving the court system of Clark County. Clark County Deputy Marshals act as bailiffs for the court.[2]

The head of the office is known as the Marshal with Deputy Marshals occupying roles beneath them.[2]

Deputy Marshals

Deputy Marshals are state law enforcement officers, that work for the court system. The salary is on average $40,000 per year.[3]

Duties

Deputy Marshals carry out court bailiff duties, keeping order in the court.

Powers

Deputy Marshals are Nevada Category 1 peace officers (such as Police Officers, Deputy Sheriffs, Deputy Marshals, Parole & Probation Officers, and State Troopers of the Nevada Highway Patrol. The Category I peace officer training is a minimum of 480 hours).[5]

Uniform and equipment

The uniform of the Marshals is similar to the LVMPD, with variations for different assignments.

Formal uniform

This is worn for formal occasions, such as funerals:

  • Khaki peaked cap with capbadge
  • Dark brown shirt with star chest badge and shoulder patches, light-coloured tie and name-plate
  • Light brown trousers with dark brown stripes
  • Black boots
  • White gloves.[6][7]

Daily uniform

This is worn for daily court duties:

  • Light brown shirt with star chest badge and shoulder patches, dark=coloured tie and name-plate
  • Light brown trousers with dark brown stripes
  • Black boots
  • Duty belt.[8][9]

BDUs

This is worn when the daily uniform is not appropriate:

  • Black polo shirt with sewn/printed on star chest badge and patches
  • Khaki cargo trousers, with velcro knee-length pockets
  • Desert boots
  • Duty belt[10]
