Persian Lessons (German: Persischstunden) is a 2020 Belarusian drama film directed by Vadim Perelman. It was selected as the Belarusian entry for the Best International Feature Film at the 93rd Academy Awards.[1] However, the film was disqualified by the Academy, due to the majority of individuals involved in making the film not coming from Belarus.[2]
Synopsis
A Jewish man in a German concentration camp pretends he is from Iran and is then forced to teach Persian, a language he does not speak, to a Nazi.[3]

In December 2020, Russia submitted 'Persian Lessons' to the 78th annual Golden Globes competition.[4]
