1916 – World War II: The first members of the 2nd Division arrive at Marseilles, France, as part of the transfer of the Australian Imperial Force from Egypt.
1932 – the New South Wales Lancers provided the mounted escort for the Governor General at the ceremony marking the opening of the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
