1940 – World War II: the Australian Government announces the creation of the 7th Division as part of the 2nd AIF.
1975 – the 6th Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment relieved the 5th/7th Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment in the cleanup operation at Darwin after Cyclone Tracy.
