Gürsu is a village in the Fındıklı District, Rize Province, in Black Sea Region of Turkey.[1] Its population is 119 (2021).[2]

History

According to list of villages in Laz language book (2009), name of the village is Jileni Pitsxala. The name the village is derived from Pitsxala River and means "upper Pitshala". Most villagers are ethnically Laz.[3]

Geography

The village is located 11 kilometres (6.8 mi) away from Fındıklı.
