Holopterygius

Holopterygius is an extinct genus of prehistoric eel-like coelacanth known from the Devonian (GivetianFrasnian) of Germany. Despite its specialized morphology and superficial dissimilarity to the usual Paleozoic coelacanth body plan, it is one of the most basal actinistian fish.[1]
