Chanda (Template:Lang-bn) is a native Bengali surname that is used in the Bengali Kayastha community of the Indian states of West Bengal and Assam, Tripura as well as in Bangladesh.[1][2]

Origin

The origin of this Bengali Kayastha surname was a Sanskrit word čandra which means ‘pleasant shining; moon’.[3]
