Emergency NYC is a Netflix documentary series[1] about New York City’s healthcare[2] professionals[3][4] as they strive to achieve a balance between their professional and personal lives. Summary
With its eight episodes,[13] the documentary series immerses viewers[14] in the dynamic world of emergency medicine.[15][16] It chronicles the demanding and unforgiving daily routines of emergency medical personnel,[17] such as flight nurse who works in helicopters,[18] transplant surgeons,[19] paramedics,[20] pediatric trauma surgeons, and neurosurgeons who dedicate their lives to assisting those in dire need.[21][22][23][24][25][26]

Reception
The show, as reviewed by Indie Wire, “presents the realities of these jobs in a matter-of-fact way that shows respect for the people being profiled.[31] The crew of “Emergency NYC” is seen working tirelessly in ambulances and helicopters to ensure that patients arrive at their intended destination as quickly as possible while keeping them alive.”[32][33]
The Wall Street Journal notes that, “the show provides a comprehensive view[34] of the medical system, including the perspective of medical technicians,[35][36] helicopter nurses,[37][38] trauma doctors,[39][40] pediatric surgeons,[41] transport coordinators,[42] and patients who have been brought back from the brink of death.”[43]
