Laith (Arabic: ليث) is an Arabic given name and a Scottish given name or surname.

The Arabic name comes from a word which means "lion"[1] and is also romanized as Leith or Layth.

The Scottish surname and given name Laith is a variant of Leith, a placename element from Scottish Gaelic laith meaning "liquid",[2] likely borrowed from Proto-Brythonic *lleɨθ "moist". See Water of Leith.
